Bhagam Bhaag

Bollywood song lyrics couldn’t get any vaguer. This song, “Bhagam Bhaag”, from the film ‘Bhagam Bhaag’ is so damn confusing that trying to understand it, one actually gets dazed!

What exactly is the song trying to say? It starts with some deep philosophy about life: “Duniya hai gol gol, bhag re bhagam bag”. Then it goes on with some nonsense about running: “Aage aate aate jaate jate, Khoye khoye jaage jaage,Thake thake haare hare, Daure daure sare sare, Pecche pecche aagee aage, Gire pade bhage bhage, bhaaag bhagam bhaaag” (whew!) And after all this, the song suddenly turns into a love song: “Dekhi jo teri yeh ada, Deewane hogaye fida…”. Then, when you’re already thoroughly confused, these two lines come up: “Ja ja ke jayegi kahan, aa aa je ayegi yahan. You know my only desnity, n this will never change”. Whose destiny? “Aayegi yahan” sounds like her destiny, and “my only destiny” sounds like his!

My gawd! What is this song talking about? Running? Coming? Going? Him? Her? Love? Life?

WHAT???

Suddenly this song brought another to mind "And you run and you run, to catch up with the sun, but its sinking. Racing around to come up behind you again. THe sun is the same in a relative way but you're older, shorter of breath and one day clser to death!" recognize it? of course, Pink Floyd did have a plan with that song.
