Beedi….hmmm…don’t we all just love this song? Sunidhi’s voice….Bipasha’s moves….aaaah…too good it is…too good!
But what the hell does this song mean, man?
“Beedi jalai le jigar se piya…” – Just how can someone light a beedi {a cheaper and more (im)potent alternative to cigarette} with one’s jigar (which literally means liver!! Eeeks!!). And “jigar ma badi aag hai”?? I’m flabbergasted! This person should be taken to a hospital immediately! Her/his liver is on fire, goddamnit!
And what does this “sasuri” mean, anyway? If we take the literal translation, it means mother-in-law. So “thandi hawa bhi khilaf, sasur r r r iiii” would mean that the protagonist is complaining to her/his mother-in-law about the cold air! Weird man!
Phew! I just give up. What does this song mean??
